Chocolate Brownies

Chocolate Brownies

The gooey dense decadent chocolaty treats – brownies!!! We all love them and I guess they are the usual favorites with our coffees or hot chocolates in the street cafes. Brownies are a lot like cakes, just more dense and are not completely baked 100% so that the centre is still remain a little mushy and less spongy. I first tried this recipe when I realized I loved brownies but are so expensive to be had everyday if bought from cafes. So here’s this easy recipe for yummy chocolate brownies. You can try these this weekend and can save a few to give your kids for school tiffins or in your husband’s lunch as dessert.

Makes 14-16 brownies
Cooking time: 45 mins
Ingredients
Dark cooking chocolate           100gms
Refined Flour                          1 cup
Baking powder                        1 tsp
Butter                                      90 gms
Castor sugar                            ¾ cup
Eggs                                         2
Vanilla Essence                       1 tsp
Walnuts chopped                     ½ cup

Recipe of Brownies
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C.
  • In a bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.
  • In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and butter together. You can also melt them in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds on full powder.
  • Beat in the butter mixture, the sugar, eggs and vanilla essence. Blend well.
  • Add the sifted flour mix to this and the walnuts and fold well so that everything is combined properly. Do not over blend like cake mix.
  • Take a  8 or 9 inch baking tin and grease it.
  • Pour the batter in the baking tin and bake at convection or jetheat or baking mode for 45 mins. The skewer inserted will not come out clean, but its ok as brownies are little mushy and cooked 95%.
  • Place it on wire rack to cool. Cut it into squares and serve hot with chocolate sauce, icecream or just like that!
