Easy Breezy Fruit Salad

Fruits are the best foods of nature. They are wholesome, complete in nutrition, fiber and essential minerals and still abundant in taste! This makes them an ideal food for children cos we all know they can be finicky! Fruit salad can also be served as a healthy appetizer before a party or after dinner as dessert for the health conscious ones! In this recipe I’ve added the readymade chaat Masala or the jal jeera powder/squash readily available at all grocery stores or supermarkets across India. For cities outside India as well, I’m sure you can get these at any good supermarket. These masalas/spice powders make our work easier. In next post, I’ll explain how to make a chaat Masala at home. Till then enjoy this quick easy fruit salad!

Serves 4
Preparation Time 10 mins
Apple 1
Pomegranate 1
Pear 1
Banana 1
Jaljeera powder or pani poori powder or any Masala squash ½ tbsp [powders 1 tsp]
Chaat Masala 1 tsp
Lemon Juice of 2 lemons
Sugar ½ tsp

  • Cut the apple and pear into small dices.
  • Seed the pomegranate and keep aside.
  • Cut the banana into half lengthwise and then chop into small pieces.
  • In a cup, mix well together the lemon juice, Masala squash or jaljeera powder, Chaat Masala and sugar.
  • Put all the cut fruits and pomegranate seeds in a bowl and pour the Masala mixture on top. Mix gently so all fruits are coated well with the tangy juice.
  • Fruit salad is ready! Now serve this in glasses instead of bowls or plates and enjoy the twist!
