Vanilla Pancakes |
Cooking time - 20 Mins
Ingredients
100g plain flour
Pinch of salt
1 tsp Baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp Vanilla essence
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
300 ml milk
1 tablsp. melted butter or oil
1 Banana
Recipe
- Sift the flour,salt and baking powder into a mixing bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Crack the egg into the well;
- Add the vanilla, melted butter or oil and half the milk.
- Gradually draw the flour into the liquid by stirring all the time with a wooden spoon until all the flour has been incorporated.
- Then beat well to make a smooth batter, neither runny nor doughy.
- Stir in the remaining milk.
- Alternatively, beat all the ingredients together for 1 minute in a blender or food processor.
- Leave to stand for about 10 minutes, stir again before using.
- To make the pancakes, heat a small heavy-based frying until very hot and then turn the heat down to low.
- Lightly grease with oil and then put with ladle enough batter to make a small roti/omlette size coating (about 1 tablsp.)
- Cook over a moderate heat for 1-2 minutes or until bubbles form on the top.
- Flip the pancake over with a palette knife or spatula and cook the second side again for 1-2 mins.
Serving Suggestions
- Maple Syrup : You can buy this from a good general store or Big bazaar. Good brands are Mac Donalds,or Amrican Garden(sugar free option available).
- Banana sliced.
- Turn onto a plate, stack 2-3 pancakes together. Smear with a little butter, add maple syrup from top.
- Serve with slices of Banana. Enjoy !!!
