Cooking time =
10 mins
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar(if not
available then use ½ cup white sugar)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
extract
3 cups all-purpose flour (Maida)
1 teaspoon baking soda (or
baking powder)
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet
chocolate chips (Dark or white)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. You can also use a blender for this.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water. (This is done to avoid incomplete mixing of the soda)
- Add to batter along with salt.
- Stir in flour and fold in the chocolate chips. Refrigerate for 10 mins.
- Grease the baking tray.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased pans atleast 2 inches away.
- Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
- Don’t overcook otherwise cookies will not be chewy and will get crisp like biscuits.
- For lesser number of cookies, you can reduce the quantities of ingredients but keep them in same ratio.
- Also,in Whirlpool convection ovens, there is a crisp option. At the end of 9 mins, you can put on crisp for 1-2 mins to get the bottom crispier!
